Boy: I have cancer
Ali: Well then, (looks him in the eye) I’m gonna beat George Foreman and you’re going to beat Cancer

After the Foreman fight, they heard the boy was in bad shape, so they visited him again at the hospital. Ali looked at the boy with tears filling his eyes.

Ali: I told you I was going to beat Foreman, now you’re going to beat cancer…
Boy: No, no…I’m going to meet God and tell him that I met you….

Shortly after the boy passed away.

I literally teared up when I heard this. It just goes to show that even the “greatest” can be put to their knees. And how one person can bring happiness to another even in their time of need.
